Beaver Meadows is part of the Allegheny National Forest. It is about 6 miles north of Marienville. It used to have a campground but the management rights of the campground was given to a private company who promptly closed it as it didn't make enough money. It was one of the most beautiful campgrounds in the forest. During FDR's new deal, the CCC constructed a dam creating a beautiful lake. There are multiple hiking trails but many of them are poorly maintained. Despite all this, it remains one of the most scenic areas in this region. My hope is that the campground will open again. This campground was created by tax money and should stay open to the public.
Quiet day use area with several easy hiking trails. Its a shame the campground isn't open anymore.
Beaver meadows was one of best campgrounds in the Allegheny National Forest. This campground needs opened up again for the public to enjoy. The sites were nice and not too close to one another. Has a blueberry patch up there as well. Would pay more than 12.00 a night if someone would take over and open it up again. Worth the money....
